My Thoughts Always: Season Of The Witch

Season of The Witch was an awesome movie.  My warning:  It's not for fundamental Christians (the ones who say Harry Potter is a sin) or small children.  There is mild language and a lot of violence.  This movie stars Nicholas Cage and Ron Perlman.   I do have to say Nicholas Cage has come a long way.  He started off making movies that I was not in to at all into a string of completely awesome movies.  Family Man, City of Angels, Sorcerer's Apprentice to name a few of my favorites.

Behmen (Cage) is a tortured soul.  He fought alongside other knights for a cause that may not have been Godly during an era of torture created by Christians during the Crusades.  He killed innocent women and children in the name of God.  He renounced the church and Felson (Perlman) and he parted ways with the church to find a countryside filled with the plague.

Women were murdered over the black death.  The church claimed these women caused this horror on to these people.  A girl accused of witchcraft is to be transported to a monastery for judgment.  Behmen, swears she will get a fair trial but strange things begin to happen and Behmen begins to question the girl's innocence.

Is she truly a witch? Or something more?  I suppose you'll have to watch it to find out.  There is a little boo factor going on and you may jump out of your seat at least once.  I like this  kind of movie where the bad guy is predictable.  I saw a movie (name omitted) where angels were demon like and I hate that kind of movie.

This one has all the bad guys exactly as they should be.  The end has a tearjerker moment so be on the look out for that.

  1. Sounds like my type of movie but I'm not sure I want to pay full price for it. I'll probably get it on Netflix when it comes out. Thanks for the recommendation Shirley ;-)

  2. Sounds like fun fare. I'm with you, Nicholas Cage has been putting out some fun ones lately. My whole family LOVES the 'National Treasure' movies and 'The Sorcerer's Apprentice' was cute, too. I'm with Deray, though. I'll probably wait for the DVD.
